This is the second installment of a two-part series on People and Processes. In Part I, AirPro President Keith White, Jr. shared how we prioritize people and processes to deliver quality industrial solutions—because behind every industrial fan is a team that makes it possible. In Part II, we learn how precision and promises keep us on schedule for every order.
Order Precision
Once the customer approves the fan design, the project moves to order processing. Essential to this phase is expediency. Here we schedule every operation, providing manufacturing with time expectations and information needed to execute the order—a critical step that drives our quality and on-time performance. Expediency ensures we complete and ship the product within our promised shipping window. Meeting shipping deadlines is of paramount importance to us, as our 95% on-time delivery rate hinges on it. If we make a promise to the customer, we do everything in our power to keep that promise. Production shoulders the weight of that responsibility.
Timely Execution
From production, the project heads to purchasing, where a dedicated team ensures the availability of every necessary part at the right time. Any delay in materials always brings manufacturing to a standstill, making precision in this stage non-negotiable. Supply chain issues and missing parts frustrate manufacturers everywhere, but our obsession with on-time delivery leaves no room for excuses. Meeting deadlines earns trust while delays undermine it. Broken promises disappoint us just as much as they do the customer, so we make staying on schedule an operational standard.
Workflow Integrity
Once orders reach the shop floor, production begins in earnest as raw metal undergoes transformation. Prep teams meticulously stage project components, ensuring seamless integration for process teams handling critical industrial operations—welding, balancing, machining, painting, and assembling.
Each team operates with a clear understanding of its role within the production chain, prioritizing smooth handoffs to maintain efficiency and precision. We adhere to a fundamental principle: the next hand off is to our customer. This mindset drives us to uphold quality standards and exceed expectations at every stage. As fan assemblies progress from station to station, real-time collaboration becomes essential—especially when challenges emerge.
To mitigate risk and maintain workflow integrity, we take a proactive, team-based approach to problem-solving. Our teams don’t work in silos; instead, departments share responsibility, ensuring that no issue remains unaddressed. Without vigilance, small mistakes can disrupt the whole build.
Testing for Perfection
In our final testing phase, we fully assemble the build and evaluate it at high-speed operation, ensuring its functionality and reliability. Our rigid quality assurance guidelines dictate the required results, and our technicians use advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to meet the stringent vibration requirements for operation. The final assembled rotating equipment must run smoothly before we send it to shipping.
Exacting Ship Prep
At ship prep, attention to detail goes beyond function—we care how a product looks when loaded onto a truck. It’s at this stage that we perform a multi-step final quality assurance process to verify that the final build meets the precise customer requirements. Only carefully assembled and meticulously handled products make it on a flatbed or box truck. A well-prepared shipment sends a clear message—meticulous care and expert engineering went into its creation.
Connecting with the Customer
One of the most interesting parts of our work is designing for a customer we may never see. Since we all receive goods and know what makes for a satisfying purchase, we can easily imagine what the customer wants. The front end, however, is more challenging. Buying a complex product outside one’s expertise can feel overwhelming, especially when flooded with technical details. That’s why our sales team collaborates closely with the customer ensuring we offer the right solution every time.
Yes, AirPro operates as a B2B company, but at our core, we are a people-to-people business. Real conversations—whether with coworkers, vendors, or customers—drive everything we do. We are committed to continuous improvement and collaboration.
