Attending the Cement Industry Conference Focused on Sustainable Strength through Innovation
Now that we’ve gotten a taste of in-person trade shows, we just can’t get enough! This time we’re headed to Las Vegas May 1-5 to engage with the cement industry at the 2022 IEEE-IAS/PCA Cement Conference.
We’ve been making the rounds with the infrastructure and building material industries this spring with our recent experiences at the Wood Bioenergy Conference & Expo (Bioenergy), Panel & Engineered Lumber International Conference & Expo (PELICE), and the International Biomass Conference & Expo, No such tour would be complete without the foundational cement industry!
IEEE-IAS/PCA Cement Conference
This is the largest conference in the cement industry, and we’re looking forward to the many networking events to meet with customers and make new industry connections. It will also give us a chance to join in conversations about innovation and sustainability, the latest technologies, and the new state of the industry report. The conference organizers are key industry associations IEEE, IAS, and PCA.
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the “trusted voice for engineering, computing, and technology information around the globe.” It’s important across industries and one that we stay closely tuned in to for insights.
Industry Applications Society (IAS)
The Industry Applications Society (IAS) is part of IEEE “enabling the advancement of theory and practice in the design, development, manufacturing, and application of safe, sustainable, reliable, smart electrical systems, equipment, and services.”
Portland Cement Association (PCA)
Founded in 1916, the Portland Cement Association (PCA) is “the premier policy, research, education, and market intelligence organization serving America’s cement industry manufacturers. PCA supports sustainability, innovation, and safety while fostering continuous improvement in cement manufacturing, distribution, infrastructure, and economic growth.
Industrial Fan Applications Supporting the Cement Industry
Manufacturers in the cement industry require reliable, high-quality centrifugal fans and blowers for key applications in their industrial process to keep operations flowing efficiently. Across our many cement industry and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) customers, we support a wide variety of applications. Here are some of the most common:
Process Cooling
Nearly all manufacturing processes, including in the cement industry, produce some amount of excess heat, whether through necessary process heating or through the friction of moving machinery. Process cooling fans provide the essential pressures and airflow required to change the temperature of the process air or other medium or material from higher to lower.
Cyclone Separators
Cyclone separator fans are part of the air filtration system in the cement industry and other process manufacturing operations. They specialize in abrasive heavy-material-laden air. They separate heavier particulates out of the airstream into other processes like dust collection, oxidizers, or exhaust. This is important in the cement industry, where the material is often milled and recycled.
Dust Collection
Dust collector fans convey the air and particulates through the dust collection system to remove nuisance or process dust from the industrial airflow and improve the quality and safety of the air within the system. The cement industry is one of many that requires dust collection for both efficiency and sustainability.
It’s Not Too Late to Join Us at the Concrete Conference
If you’re in the concrete industry or if you’re an OEM that serves them, it’s not too late.
Come on out and look for our booth #701 in the expo hall at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, May 1-5. Stop by any time during the show and/or connect with Kenny White on LinkedIn to schedule a specific time (and for future reference)! Kenny and fellow colleague Cole Hill would love to see you.
