See a Demo: High-Efficiency Backward Curved Fan
There are several wheel designs for industrial centrifugal blowers or fans with unique blade profiles: forward, backward, radial inclined, curved, tipped… sometimes it helps to get a visual. Here, we’re taking a close look at the high-efficiency backward curved fan.
How it Works
The backward curved fan rotates either clockwise or counter-clockwise, depending on the configuration needed for your application. Air enters the fan inlet and is pulled into the center of the wheel. As the wheel spins, the air moves and accelerates from centrifugal force, gliding over the wheel blades and exiting the fan housing. The blade profile directly affects how efficiently the air is moved through the fan. With a curved blade design, the backward curved fan is one of the most efficient centrifugal fan options available. It’s able to move high volumes of air at high static pressures and can be a great option for many industrial applications.
When You Need a High-Efficiency Backward Curved Fan Model
When specifying this type of fan for greater efficiency, you’ll want to consider the application along with the air volume and pressure requirements. It works with a wide range of applications, including:
