We designed a custom high-pressure purge blower with a high-efficiency shrouded radial blade wheel design for an engine exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system application.
Built on a unitary skid with an inlet filter silencer and an outlet check valve rated for 1000°F, this blower also has an outlet butterfly damper with a pneumatic actuator and a 4-20mA (milliamp, a measurement of electric current) positioner. The 575v motor includes a motor soft starter with an electrical disconnect.
The EGR system recirculates parts of the engine’s exhaust gas to help reduce NOx emissions. Industrial process operations may use EGR alone or in conjunction with other measures for air pollution control.
Performance: 400 cfm airflow @ 20” wg static pressure @ 0.0685 lb/ft^3 inlet air density
