From HVAC Beginnings to Fan Industry Expert

Trey’s journey into the industrial fan industry is one of discoveries. “The fan industry found me,” he explains. He began his career in the HVAC sector as a mechanical designer, working on layouts, support systems, and air system components like duct transitions and turning vanes. It wasn’t long before he was calculating fan flow and static pressures. “The fan world had me at that point,” Trey reflects. His technical background provided the perfect foundation for his work in the field.

A Broad Spectrum of Solutions

At DAS, Trey focuses on providing solutions to a varied range of industries. “We serve all industries at DAS,” he explains. Whether it’s repeat fan purchases for OEM customers or one-off custom fans, Trey’s expertise spans applications from coal and coke to burners, with fan sizes ranging from fractional horsepower to over 700 HP. Trey has the knowledge to meet the specific needs of each industry and fan application.

Building Relationships Across Alabama

Trey covers all of Alabama and takes pride in his responsiveness and reliability. “I pride myself on being a reliable, fast, and accurate source of information,” he says. This dedication has helped him forge strong, enduring relationships with customers throughout the state, but starting as a Manufacturer’s Representative wasn’t without obstacles. “The biggest challenge we faced was the uncertainty of starting from scratch,” Trey admits. But he doesn’t view his role as a traditional rep. “I like to consider us an extension of AirPro itself,” he says. By embracing this mindset, he’s been able to achieve success in a competitive industry. For Trey, the most rewarding part of his work is problem-solving. “It’s great seeing a customer come in with a problem and leave with an viable solution,” he shares. DAS’s partnership with AirPro enables him to deliver high-quality, expertly designed systems.

For those just starting out in the business, Trey has some straightforward advice: “Knock on every door possible. If you provide a service and are doing it well, everything will eventually fall into place.” Persistence, patience, and consistent effort, he believes, are the keys to building a successful career.
