Radial Tipped Return Air Fan for Dust Collection
We built this radial-tipped dust fan for an air return application in a dust collection system. The fan has a 125 HP motor with roller bearings and a V-belt drive with the fan and motor mounted on a unitary base. We included a custom color coating to match the rest of our customer’s system.
The custom, induced draft fan we designed for a wood industry dust collector application uses a radial tipped blade profile with a custom base design. It includes an outlet damper for flow control, pie-split housing for easier maintenance access, and a 100HP V-drive motor. The heavy-duty fan resists particle build-up and delivers high efficiency in this high-volume application.
Fan Efficiency for Dust Collectors
Industrial fans have a special job to do when used in a dust collection application. They need to get the dust-laden air past the filters in the dust collector baghouse. The system pressure varies based on how “dirty” the filters are, and you can adjust the fan speed accordingly. Properly adjusting the speed can reduce your overall power consumption, but that depends on whether or not you place the pressure gauge in the right spot.
AirPro built the following fan for a Wisconsin company that dries potatoes for use in animal feed. The exhaust fan is installed at the end of the drying process. A gradual build-up of particulate on the wheel resulted in excessive fan vibration levels. AirPro field service technicians were hired to balance the fan, restoring it to smooth operation.
The following exhaust fan was installed on the dust collection system for a US producer of pelletized sulfate. Pelletized sulfate is a soil amendment used to improve soil properties in corn, soybean, and other crops.
The following industrial exhaust fan was designed for the dust collection system in a Pennsylvania Siding Pilot Plant. The plant’s dust collection system is currently connected to only one line. Two lines will be added at a later date.
