This straightforward scrap removal application called for a high-efficiency backward curved fan with a premium efficiency motor using an Arrangement 1 V-belt drive and a unitary base.
Case Studies
This dust collector application called for a highly-customized high-pressure blower. The specification included a custom housing and an impeller design for a range of static, dynamic, and thermal loads of operation.
This spray dryer exhaust fan is the third in a set of three we provided for this dairy operation, along with the spray dryer supply fan and a cooling conveying fan. Dairy operations use multi-stage spray dryers to ensure optimal product quality and drying efficiency. The exhaust fan pulls the air and particulate out of the dryer, with airflow components designed to prevent particles from sticking to the fan.
For this protein rendering installation, we provided a high-volume single-width backward inclined industrial fan with 304 stainless steel airstream parts, an Arrangement 9 belt drive, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety guards. This backward inclined fan moves high volumes of air and includes a non-overloading horsepower design for low-pressure applications like this one.
We designed this custom backward-curved tempering air blower on a skid with a 75 HP IEEE 841 (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) severe duty motor.
The custom, induced draft fan we designed for a wood industry dust collector application uses a radial tipped blade profile with a custom base design. It includes an outlet damper for flow control, pie-split housing for easier maintenance access, and a 100HP V-drive motor. The heavy-duty fan resists particle build-up and delivers high efficiency in this high-volume application.
Backward Curved Models Now Offer Smaller Fan Sizes
We are excited to announce the expansion of our Backward Curved models to include fans with wheel diameters below 27 inches. Combustion Air and other Forced Draft applications often require fans designed for low airflows at higher pressures, and we have traditionally supplied our high-pressure blower models for these applications. But our customers started asking us for fans with lower horsepower requirements, and our product development team set out to expand our offerings with more efficient options.
The Down and Dirty Details on Clearing the Air
Dilution air (air that combines with flue gas) is present in power plants, as well as boiler systems, cooling systems, and other industrial systems that produce dirty air. Each of these requires a dilution air fan to assist in removing the pollutants from the flue gas to clear the air for breathing.
AirPro Customer Story: We recently got some great feedback from one of our customers in the Powder & Bulk Processing industry on how AirPro managed the quote, order, & installation phases of their project which, incidentally, included a few hiccups.
AirPro recently built Induced Draft Blowers for an overseas pharmaceutical dryer application. The fans were designed to pull over 100″ WGSP vacuum as they dry powder for final processing. AirPro performed a customer witnessed performance test to confirm actual results consistent with customer specifications.
A European company recently contracted AirPro to build an induced draft (ID) fan for their US-based project. The project had several custom requirements including a very short lead time within a fixed budget. Successful execution required a dedicated AirPro project team.
AirPro built the following fan for a Wisconsin company that dries potatoes for use in animal feed. The exhaust fan is installed at the end of the drying process. A gradual build-up of particulate on the wheel resulted in excessive fan vibration levels. AirPro field service technicians were hired to balance the fan, restoring it to smooth operation.
September’s story involves the Cheese & Whey industry. AirPro built four fans for a northeastern dairy processing facility. All fans, installed on a whey production system, were required to pass USDA food-safety inspection. The pictured fan, processing the hot air at the outlet of the dryer, included 304 Stainless Steel airstream parts (APIC).
AirPro received the OEM order for four tempering blowers built for a glass manufacturer here in our home state of Wisconsin. The fans are installed on the back end of the glass oven, providing supply air for the tempering process.
